About the scheme

Disability Confident is designed as a learning journey with all employers starting at Level 1 and progressing through the scheme at their own pace. Accreditation for each level lasts for 3 years. No employer is too small or new to start the journey and even the most experienced employer will still find new techniques and best practices that can help them.

Over 18,000 businesses across the UK have already started the Disability Confident journey, including all main government departments, local councils and private sector organisations. Joining the scheme can help your organisation to better attract, recruit and retain disabled people and those with long-term health conditions. The free resources within the scheme provide timely and appropriate advice and  guidance to help you progress on your Disability Confident journey.

What do you get from the scheme?

On joining the scheme, you will receive a Disability Confident Committed (Level 1) welcome pack, including an accreditation certificate for 3 years and a badge, which can be displayed on your website, social media platforms and recruitment adverts.

You will also gain access to free advice, guidance, toolkits and resources to help you attract, recruit, retain and develop disabled people in the workplace, supporting your organisation to develop a rigorous and inclusive environment that enables all employees to fulfil their potential.
