Striving to become an employer of choice for neurodivergent individuals by Deloitte

Deloitte is working towards becoming the employer of choice for neurodivergent individuals by implementing the following:

We've rolled out firmwide neurodiversity digital training to increase awareness and offer practical advice to all our people on how to support neurodivergent colleagues. Building on this firmwide training and following consultation and feedback from our ND colleagues, we’ve developed further contextualised resources, case studies and guidance for our people, and in particular our People Leaders, to enhance their understanding and confidence in supporting neurodivergent colleagues.
We've rolled out 'Neurodiversity Confidence' training to our recruiters to help them understand what it means to be neurodivergent and how this can impact people's recruitment experience. This included a short video where colleagues talked about their neurodiversity and experience of joining Deloitte. We've developed a neurodiversity interview guide, a neurodiversity toolkit for our Resourcing teams and, as part of our Hiring Manager Accreditation Programme, we've included a new module on neurodiversity. Based on our internal recruiter training we recently created and launched interactive 'Neurodiversity Learning guides for Recruiters' (https://www2.deloitte.com/uk/en/pages/neurodiversity-learning-guides.html) that are freely available for anyone to download from our website, to help raise awareness and broaden understanding in this area.
This bespoke role helps facilitate reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.
All Performance Coaches and People Leaders have been invited to attend a “Neurodiversity Confidence for Coaches” webinar designed and delivered by our Occupational Psychologist to increase their understanding and confidence when supporting neurodivergent colleagues. Phase 2 of this initiative identified a small sub cohort of coaches to partake in an advanced series of training; forming a pool of dedicated 'ND coaches' for any of our neurodivergent colleagues to reach out to for support.
During Neurodiversity Celebration Week in March 2022, we launched our new firmwide Neurodiversity Network; a community offering peer support and raising awareness about neurodiversity. This network is in addition to our Workability Network which supports anyone with a disability, long term health condition, neurodivergent condition or poor mental health.
As part of our focus to improve our diversity data we've added a new question specifically around neurodivergent conditions. Improving our data will help us better understand the make-up of our workforce.
